The project developed a place-branding framework rooted in the cultural and historical context of the Kaohsiung mountain region in Taiwan. Local agriculture, settlement history, folk beliefs, and everyday life were translated into a system of narrative characters that function as cultural interfaces between community and visitor.
Rather than promoting individual attractions, the design connects multiple districts into a continuous story landscape, encouraging movement, exploration, and emotional attachment to place. This approach transforms tourism from location-based visitation into relationship-based experience.
By embedding regional identity into a scalable visual and behavioral system, the project establishes a long-term brand capable of evolving beyond a single event. It supports sustainable tourism development while strengthening local recognition and shared cultural memory, forming an extensible model for regional cultural branding.
