About The Entry

The design is driven by two key strategies: linear guidance and light-mediated dissolution, responding directly to the homeowner’s preference for working and socializing within the public domain. Rather than layering multiple materials, the design intentionally reduces material complexity, focusing instead on horizontal extension and visual permeability. Reflective gray mirrors at the entry extend spatial perception, while a continuous linear light strip leading toward the TV wall guides movement through shifting light and shadow. Without significant structural alteration, the design achieves spatial expansion through a controlled visual center of gravity and continuous horizontal articulation, creating an environment that feels perceptually larger and more cohesive.

Originally configured as a four-bedroom layout, the apartment was constrained by a long, fragmented corridor that disrupted spatial continuity. The design reinterprets this condition by dismantling conventional enclosed boundaries and prioritizing the maximization of the public domain, aligning with the homeowner’s lifestyle—solitary living on weekdays and social gatherings on weekends.



A continuous horizontal datum, defined by the standard 750 mm height of the desk and dining table, becomes the primary visual axis, linking the entry, dining area, and workspace. This linear alignment guides sightlines seamlessly across the interior, dissolving spatial boundaries and amplifying the sense of openness.

Extensive use of modular panel systems forms cohesive vertical surfaces where storage and spatial composition are fully integrated. A strategy of “gray-mirror concealment” is employed to obscure fixed equipment and mechanical elements, transforming otherwise intrusive utilities into refined architectural features—achieved without relocating existing systems.
