Home is an extension of one’s mindset, an emotional space crafted to resonate with one’s ideal life. This understated and yet exquisite private residence located in the heart of urban Taipei, embodies the homeowner’s aspiration for a peaceful life. The airy ceiling curves obscured the low beams, and captured the lucid daylight into the space. In a moment, the bustling of city life is washed away, and the light renders the ambiance with a soft, tranquil tone.

Taking cultural sensibility as the foundation, the entire interior blends natural materials with an updated modern expression of the new Chinese style in colors and forms. The open-plan living room creates a more expansive and leisure space, infused with the warm sunshine to gently touch on the greenery by the windows.

As if embarking on a refined sensory journey, the beige travertine wall of the living area shaped a serene imagery of sand grains; meanwhile the roomy sofa and the footstool adopt similar patterns and textures to the wall to reveal the calmly elegance. A sculptural shape coffee table alongside a pair of wooden lounge chairs with woven seats, and a black ceramic base table lamp, bring out the relaxation and artistic vibe out of the blank-leaving space; the overall effect is one of profound simplicity, in which the liberty of minds is flowing through.



The open layout extends to the dining area; to echo the dark hue of the wood dining table, the dark pine green spreads on the leather cover of the dining chairs. In addition, the ethereal and delicate paper lamp from the Danish design brand New Works resembles a floating cloud on the right note, sublimated the poetic imagination.

Aside the dining area, the large proportion of the kitchen cupboard and island in dark monochrome, builds such a calm and neat ritual backdrop for the scenes of everyday life.
