Located in the heart of Italy’s historic wool industry—Biella—this project transforms an abandoned wool factory into a vibrant exhibition space that celebrates the intersection of tradition and innovation.
The interior exhibition explores the story of wool production and Italian fashion through spatial design and material experimentation. At the core of the design is a 3D-printed wool curtain, a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional wool weaving. This digitally fabricated element serves both as an architectural partition and a symbolic gesture, weaving together past and future.
The curtain divides the space into two zones: the Exhibition Zone, where the cultural and historical narratives of Italian wool are displayed, and the Production Zone, where visitors witness the process of wool-making in real time. The curtain itself is double-sided, with two distinct color palettes to reinforce the duality of past and present, craft and technology, memory and innovation.
This project aims to reawaken the cultural heritage embedded in Biella’s industrial landscape by using design as a medium to preserve, interpret, and reimagine the “Made in Italy” legacy. Through the poetic union of material, machine, and memory, it offers a new lens on how fashion spaces can evolve—rooted in place, yet open to future possibilities.
