Located in the heart of Northeast China, the project draws inspiration from Changchun’s unique identity as the “Spring City of the North.” It integrates the city’s diverse cultural and ecological narratives into an immersive banquet space that balances functionality with symbolism.

The design explores four key dimensions—nature, history, industry, and art—using “story as the pulse,” “green as the charm,” and “sustainability as the soul.” Seasonal cycles are reflected through miniature Changbai Mountain landscapes, local plantings, and seasonal floral arrangements, expressing harmony between man and nature while practicing ecological recycling.

Historically, the space connects to the city’s ancient name “Xidu,” preserving and regenerating architectural heritage such as Confucian temples and Republic-era streets. Traditional auspicious symbols like clouds, Ruyi, and paper cuttings are reinterpreted with modern design language, creating continuity between past and present.

Industrial aesthetics highlight Changchun’s role as the cradle of China’s automobile industry. Brushed steel, copper, and concrete emphasize strength, while geometric structures and sculptural art infuse vitality. Reflections and modern lighting techniques create dynamic light-and-shadow narratives, symbolizing technological innovation.

Film culture, rooted in the city’s history, is celebrated through immersive projection spaces, vintage projectors, and movie-themed decorative elements. These evoke collective memory and emotional resonance, blending art with spatial storytelling.

Finally, the city’s eclectic architectural influences—Chinese, Russian, Japanese, and European—are abstracted into patterns of spires, domes, arches, and columns. Through modular design and layered sequencing, the space offers a rich cultural journey where diverse styles coexist.

Together, these dimensions construct a banquet environment defined by “warmth, memory, and future.” It transcends visual aesthetics to offer cultural depth and emotional connection, enabling guests to experience the natural texture, historical imprint, industrial vitality, and artistic heritage of the city while preserving enduring memories of the Northern Spring City.
