About The Entry

Milan International Hotel is situated in Rongjiang, an internet-famous town in Qiandongnan, covering a total area of 18,000 square meters. Built to host global football fans, it boasts an international vision and high-end reception capacity. Its design draws inspiration from the cohesion of the local "Village Super League", the enthusiasm of ethnic minorities, and the characteristic indigo dyeing industry, a traditional ethnic craft.

The hotel blends Eastern and Western styles. With a color palette based on black, white and gray, it is accented with cultural patterns and symbols. Cost-effective and eco-friendly materials are adopted, such as gypsum boards, wood veneers, domestic stone, local bamboo and rattan crafts, complemented by a small amount of metal edging. Using modern engineering software and gypsum, the multi-curved and multi-shaped space is crafted to mimic the texture of stone architecture.

The lobby features an arch and hexagonal honeycomb structure. Over 1,000 honeycomb cells use colorful lights to simulate light filtering through tree canopies, with gradients echoing indigo layers. Arc-shaped ceilings and special column networks create a sense of depth while solving acoustic reflection issues, balancing aesthetics and functionality.

Sustainability is integrated into the design. A large number of local cultural products, such as plant indigo-dyed items, are used. Guestroom soft furnishings and fabrics are handcrafted by local farmers, made of 100% cotton with 100% plant dyes. Special art exhibition and gallery areas are designed for displaying, training, and selling local handicrafts. This not only endows the space with regional cultural characteristics but also promotes the marketization of folk products, meeting operational needs while boosting cultural development.
