Dongguan Songshan Lake Mixc One marks China Resources Land's first commercial flagship entry into Dongguan and stands as the city's premier composite commercial landmark integrating a "mall-park + streetscape" typology. The project's central circulation spine—Upper Street—not only anchors the commercial dynamism of flagship retail but also leverages its inherently open, leisurely outdoor character to serve as an ideal canvas for urban public life and artistic intervention.

Wooden Horse Wonderland responds to the spatial invitation of Upper Street with an iconic art installation that transcends the homogeneity of conventional seasonal décor. Anchored by a double-decker carousel as its narrative core, the work poetically weaves together the aurora borealis, a Christmas tree, and PONY—a filly embodying hope—into ten thematic vignettes. While preserving the warmth of festive ritual, the installation injects the interactive tension of mechanical aesthetics, endowing the scene with a rare immersive texture.

The 10-meter-tall double-decker carousel is constructed primarily using 3D printing technology, its lightweight yet resilient materiality echoing the contemporary imperative for green, low-carbon development. The aurora spectacle, realized through cutting-edge light and shadow technologies, transposes the shifting curtains of the Northern Lights onto the city skyline. Beneath a canopy where drifting snow mingles with celestial glow, the public ceases to be mere spectators; they become active participants in a romantic instant where reality and fantasy converge.

During the activation period, the installation propelled daily footfall to a peak of 127,000 visits and generated 16 million total online impressions, crystallizing into a citywide cultural phenomenon. More than a visual spectacle, Wooden Horse Wonderland stands as a heartfelt artistic offering to the people of Dongguan. Viewed through the lens of public art, it successfully activated the emotional field of the commercial realm, bequeathing to the city a legible imprint of memory, emotional resonance, and sustainable commercial-cultural vitality.
