About The Entry

"The Music and Dance World in Silk Road Grottoes" was widely recognized as a "phenomenon" in the art world in 2023. Through meticulous marketing planning and promotion, it achieved outstanding results. In 2024, the original creative team collaborated once again to produce another splendid sequel.

After three years of exploration, the editing and photography team visited renowned grotto temples and museums worldwide, tracing the inheritance and evolution of music, dance, and musical instruments across different regions and ethnicities along the Silk Road, from ancient Egypt, Persia, and India to the Han and Tang dynasties in China. Based on abundant historical documents, Dunhuang manuscripts, grotto sculptures, mural images, and physical artifacts, the book faithfully restores the enchanting dances, celestial melodies, and exquisite instruments from 1500 years ago, showcasing the world of musical dance along the ancient Silk Road.

With twelve chapters cleverly integrating traditional Chinese dance elements, Buddhist musical elements, and even transforming the Chinese zodiac into telegraph codes presented in the form of ancient Qin music scores, the book adds an extra layer of interest for readers. Inside the back cover, hand-drawn images of grotto sculptures from 1500 years ago demonstrate the exceptional craftsmanship, gradually revealing different grotto instruments from various periods to readers, unveiling the precious historical legacy of dance sculptures through the ages.

A highlight of the book is the simultaneous release of the "Musical Dance Beauty Zero Yuan Collector's Banknote," a pioneering initiative in domestic book design and distribution. This collector's banknote ingeniously combines the musical dance art of the Silk Road grottoes with the classic sculptures of Chinese grotto temples, using high standards of printing and anti-counterfeiting technology to present the magnificent beauty of musical dance art in the Silk Road grottoes.
