In contrast to typical pragmatic house interiors, small apartment spaces can sometimes be more appropriate for realising the pure aesthetics of dreams. This can be seen as not merely the expression of personal tastes, but also a microcosm, reflecting the spirit of the surrounding city environment. When designing The Mix City Showroom for Zhengzhou China Resources, MU Design introduced the theme of dreams of the urban past, one which captures the imagination and offers rich possibilities for aesthetic refinement. From this starting point, the designers began to organize a coherent space layout, striving to create a compelling atmosphere recalling bygone days. Each decorative furnishing adds to the whole, creating an overall ambience of classic style infused with fresh vitality. This bespoke clothing studio takes stylistic cues from the elegance of mid-20th century French design, blending it with the spirit of European modernism. The overall palette of natural, light cream colors is punctuated with opaque black frames and gold-tinted decorations. The gently arched door openings, subtle wall ornamentation, and delicate teak flooring create a fresh and comfortable mood, sophisticated yet welcoming at the same time. In the bright, spacious reception area, the elongated lines of the chandelier above the minibar are wrapped in vintage velvet, their metal structure echoing the built-in wine rack and adjacent bar stools. The elegant ceramic utensils used for afternoon tea are adorned with delicate silver decorations, and are from the renowned French brand Legle, while the subtly curved, clear vases on the side cabinet have been selected from the British brand IVV. The various spaces and surfaces of the project take on a rich multitude of materials, textures, and forms, manifested in the carefully curated selection of decorative display objects and furniture. By integrating classic and contemporary styles through the selected work of young dreamers, MU Design presents here a tribute to emerging designers which brings together diverse trends, luxury, luminosities, and romance, in a setting of inspired elegance.
