The project offers a future-focused workspace for Tetra Pak’s 150+-strong team in Tokyo, providing a new way of working that responds to research and feedback from nearly 19,000 employees across the global business.
The completed design put people firmly at the centre, so employee engagement was key for a successful implementation and the colleagues in Tokyo are reaping the benefits of this approach. The project delivered the right balance of the global Tetra Pak concept, with the needs of the local people and culture, enabled by spaces, services, processes, technologies, and tools.
The space needed to reflect the businesses global brand whilst still ensuring local connection within the space types, useability and design details. The workspace design was created in response to four key areas: flexible working arrangements, purpose-based workplaces, digital tools and health & wellbeing.
Tetra Pak’s existing workspace in Tokyo was outdated and did not support a dynamic and agile way of working. The business wanted to move to a new space in Akasaka, central Tokyo, to reduce their footprint by approximately 30%, allowing them to reinvest the savings to deliver a workplace in a better location, with a better fit-out and improved services.
