This building, standing amid mountain forests like a watchtower, is not only a B&B, but also a novel and intriguing work of art.
Drawing inspiration from the classic artworks of the painter M.C. Escher, the building ingeniously integrates geometric elements like arches, circles, and squares into its exterior, leading to an interesting style and showing a staggered aesthetic of varying heights. Diverse geometric cut-outs in the walls enhance spatial transparency. The warm, simple earth tone, and the natural texture of Yajingshi Coating, together bring the facade a natural and rustic beauty.
Inside the building, natural materials like rough stones and solid wood, coupled with green plants, echo mountain forests outside, which helps to blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors so as to make guests feel as if in the nature. The grid-patterned hollowed-out walls enrich visual effects when ensuring good spatial transparency, and make possible a rich play of light and shadow. The small pavilion in the garden, boasting three mosaic walls that fades in gradient, is reminiscent of a secluded waterfall cave, whereby to offer a unique experience for relaxation and enjoyment.
The rooftop features areas like a swimming pool and a wooden observation deck, all aiming to cater to guests’ desire for a high-quality life in harmony with nature.
