This project stands out with its special double-filmed LOW-E UV-resistant glass curtain wall which covers 80% of its overhanging office rooms. These spaces are seamlessly connected through a structural steel frame system to metal-furnished wall panels on each level. As a result, the primary design objective of effective day-/night-time light and heat management is achieved through an environmental control system. This approach ensures the completed building will gracefully stand in the city center in compliance with green building standards, contributing to energy efficiency and carbon reduction goals. Consequently, it serves as a landmark for future advancements in urban energy transformation.
The predominantly transparent glass structure infuses natural daylight as a main factor in lighting design. To resolve visual imbalances, we implemented extensive exterior wall-washing strategies to synchronize with interior illumination. Despite the increased difficulty in integration, it offers urban observers natural space with layers of transparent light, thereby reducing the overall need for indoor lighting.
During the night, indoor space is incorporated into our architectural lighting strategy with indirect ceiling lights.
The architectural lighting expression is synchronized with employees’ off-hours in different zones through the control system. As the moon rises, the design evolves and varies according to individual lighting habits.
The entire ground-floor lobby is covered in red copper dragon scales. This biomimetic space is brightened by refractions from multi-layered curves, reducing the need for numerous lighting fixtures. The metal walls feature handcrafted protrusions to show the interplay of light within the space. In the distance, a help desk with a mirror-finish stainless steel surface marks the visual focal point. The equilibrium between light and metal captivates viewers with undeniable allure, intensifying overall brightness perception while minimizing energy consumption.
After nightfall, the Prussian blue city sky blends in with the indoor ambiance.
