This is an exploration and integration of traditional culture and modern quality, as well as an interpretation and longing for a beautiful life. The designer extracts elements from Taiwan’s geographical features, city landmark buildings, and historical buildings, integrating the era, landscapes, and humanities art into the space design. Combining an international aesthetic perspective, incorporating elements of Eastern and Western cultures, blending modernity with the classical, a classical modern space with an oriental aesthetic charm is created.
The stepped wall uses retro striped red bricks with some horizontal line shapes, which are common in traditional buildings. The staircase is an important passage connecting the first and second floors, and it is also a highlight of the restaurant. The gold mosaic painting obtained by the owner at auction, although partially damaged, was disassembled and reassembled into LUGANG on the wall, highlighting the brand and using old objects to add a bit of nostalgic atmosphere to the entire space.
This design also elevates the brand image of the restaurant to a new height, making the restaurant stand out among its peers. Here, diners enjoy not only delicious food but also the beauty of space and the connotation of culture, allowing them to have more emotional and memory connections, attracting more attention and people; nonetheless, this is also a retro and fashionable dining space, where diners can relax and feel the beauty and happiness of life.
