Concept: Harbor in the Storm
One can have an extraordinary and dynamic experience in storms. The spatial concept, Harbor in the Storm, is aiming to embrace attributes that is new, ongoing and ever-changing in a totally different manner as well as exploring the balance between conflicting opposites such as motion and stillness.
The name of OP.18 comes from The Tempest, Symphonische Fanstasie op.18 of Tchaikovsky. Therefore, the design of the space takes inspiration from symphony and fantasy, exploring a space state that is filled with both contradictions and balance. It allows for the possibility of different attributes intertwining and shaping each other, fostering a creative imagination to explore the brand's DNA.
Rise Above the Time
A skeleton facade establishes a dialectical relationship with the interior, where the luminous frame structure and clear internal scenes from a “tangible” space that ignites cumstomers’ desire to walk in.
Into the Storm
The bar and spa spaces possess contrasting attributes—the bar area is more vibrant while the spa area is more quite. Therefore, AB.S takes the relationship between motion and stillness as the design strategy to explore the balance in the space。
The light on the ceiling cascades down in the form of a showerhead, resembling raindrops falling onto the body, creating a leap from three-dimensional to four-dimensional experience. The initial sensory perception of the space triggers a more dynamic experience. It expands the boundaries of the experience, transitioning from simply admiring the scenery to actively engaging with the scenes.
The Harbor, A Still Night
The wall behind the bar counter was convered with luminous film. The ever-changing light turn the entire space into the room of fantasy with the music, shadows and colors, as if immersed in boundless moments.
Space,as a more liberated medium, shapes both imagination and memory of space and embraces the unknown and possibilities. It enables us to step into the flow of the future by breaking the units of time
