Each year, millions of tons of coffee beans are turned into coffee, resulting in about 6 million tons of coffee grounds are thrown away. The coffee grounds are basically waste. To reduce overall carbon emissions from both coffee grounds waste and disposable coffee cups, the design team leveraged the recycled materials technology to create a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to disposable coffee cups.

The Coffee to Go Mug is a reusable coffee cup with the innovative use of the eco-friendly composite material made from old recyclable coffee ground fibers and polypropylene resin through special processes. Its design has been inspired by the essence of Scandinavian design, echoing with Nordic minimalistic aesthetics.

Its unique shape is designed for precision, representing the design team’s commitment to elegance and simplicity. The designer managed to express the identity of the cup while keeping it fairly simple.

The Coffee to Go Mug is a take-away styled reusable cup with both wide rim for easily pouring coffee and zero-leak lid. Its double-layered cup body insulates heat and prevents burns.

The well-sealed lid can prevent leakage when inverted. The top of the cup is equipped with a sliding lock, which prevents accidental spills when placed in a bag. The lid can be flipped and secured 180 degrees to avoid spillage on the nose when drinking coffee. The bottom of the cup adopts a vacuum suction design to avoid accidental tipping.

Reducing the use of disposable coffee cups, to decrease the environmental impact, the Coffee to Go Mug is the ultimate blend of style and sustainability.
