The owner of this project is a young girl who works as a teacher, she loves life but is very tired of the complexities and interactions from city life. She does not appreciate excessive decorations. She longs to return to nature and wants to find a tranquil space to relax. Therefore, she chose the wabi-sabi design style, hoping the designer could create a retro, comfortable space that constantly provides a sense of tranquility away from city noise. Fans of the wabi-sabi style typically yearn to integrate with nature and hope to create an immersive forest atmosphere at home. This design style emphasizes natural materials, simplicity, and comfort, bringing a sense of peace and relaxation, allowing one to find a piece of serenity amid a busy life. The memory of the old house at grandmother’s place, with its yellow rammed earth walls. During the day, light would spill in through narrow windows. At night, a faint tungsten light illuminated the simple space, where parts of the walls were neatly covered with old newspapers without any excessive decorations. Utilizing every object as it is the represents of our memory home. Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen: Utilizing the clean and tidy characteristics of micro cement, these areas are fully open, with each space linked together by arched doorways, creating independent but interconnected spaces. By placing some green plants, the home is filled with natural atmosphere. The living room shelf combines arch elements with open compartments, enhancing the design sense of the space. Due to the properties of micro cement, the kitchen is also open and can integrate with the dining room, making the space look larger. The former secondary bedroom space is transformed into a staircase area, with the attic floor removed to make the space more transparent. The attic design continues the elements of the first-floor space, maintaining independent privacy for each area while preserving the original sloped roof as much as possible.
