Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China is home to Atlas Silk. Atlas Silk originates from Buya Township, Jiya Township, Hanggui Township of Lop County,Xinjiang. However, the spinning technology of this silk is now widely circulated in the Hotan region, so this silk is called Hotan "Atlas". Atlas Silk is famous for its bold and unrestrained textures, brilliant and bright colors, and fine and delicate patterns. It is mainly made of mulberry silk and still woven by hand in Hotan. It is crafted through ingenious weaving with colorful silk threads dyed by the flower essence of pomegranate flowers, Russian olive flowers, henna flowers, and natural stone color using the ancient Ikat dyeing technique. It is known as "the last handicraft of the 21st century".

Design Background and Ideas

We are committed to designing new Atlas patterns for Xinjiang's outstanding fashion designer, ALIM·ADIL, to help his brand make more products favored by the younger generation and to let the world know more about Xinjiang's Atlas Silk through the brand. We are at the intersection of tradition and modernity, drawing a colorful future. In the exploration of the millennia-old weaving treasure- Atlas Silk, we dug deep into its cultural connotations and revitalized its patterns through thoughtful innovation.

Our thinking derives from a deep understanding of and respect for the Atlas pattern, but it doesn't stop there. We skillfully integrated modern design concepts into pattern design, enabling the pattern to exude a unique sense of modernity while preserving the traditional flavor through elaborate planning and repeated refinement. This process is a deep reflection and recreation of traditional craftsmanship, as well as our relentless pursuit of cultural heritage and innovation.

In the evolution of patterns, we break through the limitations of material and labor and use diversified modern materials to present the beauty and wisdom of Atlas to the world in a new form. These works are visually stunning with deep cultural significance, telling ancient stories, conveying modern values, and serving as a bridge between the past and the future.
