This project is situated in Pingdingshan, Henan, and enjoys excellent transport links and proximity to Bai Gui Lake National Urban Wetland Park, Binhe Forest Park, Xiangshan Temple Scenic Area, and Zhanhe Yuan Lianhua Wetland. The design draws inspiration from the abundant natural surroundings, meticulously preserving the existing landscape. By incorporating expansive, transparent glass, the design seamlessly blends the external architectural forms and natural light with the interior, dissolving the boundaries between everyday life and art, and enhancing the ease and comfort found in nature. The designer blends "nature, culture, and art" with the soft textures of the furnishings, crafting a space that radiates a unique sense of tranquility and comfort, embodying a modern style that harmonizes with the natural environment. In terms of color, the design focuses on the vibrant hues of life, with green as the predominant theme. This choice not only catches the eye but also breaks conventional visual boundaries. The interplay of stone materials and greenery enriches the space with artistic contrasts, heightening the sense of artistry within the space. The design challenge was to create a space that exudes both luxury and a connection to nature. While these elements are not inherently contradictory, they do present a complex interplay that required thoughtful expression and presentation. The solution was to employ a design strategy that integrates views, connecting the lush outdoor greenery with the refined interior. This approach showcases the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature. For instance, the integration of hanging greenery with starry lighting and green walls with crystal chandeliers creates a stunning fusion of exquisite human craftsmanship and the beauty of natural flora, offering a magical experience reminiscent of encountering fireflies in a dense forest—a standout feature of this design. Local stone materials were chosen for their natural beauty and ecological benefits. By using locally sourced stones and moss, which is treated to remain dry, the design is both practical and cost-effective, minimizing environmental impact and transportation costs, and reducing overall energy consumption, thus contributing to a more natural and harmonious space.
