Life safety is the most fundamental condition and prerequisite for all human activities. However, those working at heights face significant risks throughout their tasks. In addition to enduring immense psychological pressure, they must contend with challenging weather conditions, such as strong winds. *SkyGuard* has been designed as a wearable safety and detection device to provide additional security for steeplejacks. It features detachable vacuum suction cups and integrated meteorological monitoring equipment.

The main body of SkyGuard improves upon the traditional five-point safety harness by incorporating several new elements. Airbags are added to the seating area to allow workers to maintain a relaxed, comfortable sitting position for extended periods. Reflective metal points on the back make the wearer more visible day and night, further enhancing safety.

At the heart of SkyGuard’s design are its vacuum suction cups. These allow workers to adhere securely to glass surfaces without shaking, and they are capable of supporting short-distance falls, significantly increasing safety during high-altitude work. For versatility, SkyGuard also includes mechanical plugs and grippers that can be swapped out to adapt to rough rock walls or crumbling surfaces.

Each suction cup is equipped with sensors that monitor key environmental conditions—temperature, wind speed, humidity, and altitude. This real-time data is communicated to the worker through a display on the shoulder. The display is mounted on a rotating shaft, allowing the user to view it safely at high altitudes without disrupting their focus or stability.

SkyGuard aims to change the perception and experience of those who work at great heights, ensuring their safety and comfort. By enhancing their working conditions, this design advocates for greater respect, recognition, and protection of workers in such dangerous professions—because all labor is valuable, and every life is worthy of care.
