In the post-pandemic era, the consumption habits and lifestyles of Chinese people have undergone significant changes. After enduring three years of lockdowns, consumers' preferences and expectations for healthy, natural, and open shopping environments have steadily increased. Despite the brand's deep-rooted presence in the local community, it has lost its competitive edge in the new consumer market shaped by the pandemic. There is an urgent need for revitalization through innovative upgrades.
The project is located in Kunming, Yunnan, a city rich in ethnic diversity and tropical cloud forests. We have integrated the brand's philosophy with the local culture into the interior space. The brand name " ShengSiong" carries ancient connotations—representing the rising sun that nourishes the lush plants on earth. The term "Siong" in ancient Chinese refers to Chinese cabbage, a traditional and ancient vegetable in China. Its qualities, like those of a gentleman, embody warmth, kindness, humility, and modesty—virtues that have nurtured generations of Chinese people. The design draws inspiration from the cabbage in the brand's name, using the soothing green hue of the vegetable as the primary color palette. This color is reminiscent of a gentle spring breeze, refreshing and calm, while the perforated panels allow light to filter through, symbolizing the sun's rays passing through the morning dew.
Throughout the design, we have employed green perforated aluminum panels, natural wood-grain tiles, and green plants as accents to create a modern, natural, and eco-friendly commercial environment. The aim is to build a serene urban oasis for the local community, offering a refreshing retreat in the heart of the city.
