Seedlings is an app designed to help young teens take charge of their diabetes management from an early age by using a reward system to motivate and support their progress. With Seedlings, parents can set up fun, personalized challenges where teens check their blood glucose levels in exchange for rewards tailored to their interests. Along with each challenge, the teen receives a virtual pot and seed that grows with every completed glucose check. Each successful check-in earns points, which can be redeemed for rewards. Once a reward is redeemed, the teen receives a new pot and seed to nurture for the next round.

Rewards encourage positive behaviors, and Seedlings’ goal is to turn the stress of managing diabetes into a more engaging and enjoyable experience for younger generations. This not only motivates teens but also alleviates parents' stress. While many diabetes management apps focus primarily on tracking blood glucose data, they often overlook a key challenge: getting teens to consistently check their levels.
