The design concept of this project, centered around the theme "The Eye of Time and Space, Seeing the Future," skillfully integrates the rich historical heritage of Hanyang city with the innovative spirit of modern culture. It aims to capture the intersection of history and the future, while simultaneously introducing art and culture into the space, creating a dynamic fermentation from material to spirit, and from time to space.
At the heart of the design lies an artistic sculpture on the first floor, which serves as a powerful cultural interface for the city. Drawing inspiration from the Yangtze River’s winding lines, the sculpture uses water as a fundamental element to evoke the harmonious beauty of "mountain and water" within the urban context. The contrasting use of flowing curves and straight lines expresses the symbiotic relationship between tradition and contemporary design, while creating an immersive experience akin to an open art gallery.
The reception area, designed as a sanctuary of relaxation, serves as a mental space that continues the fluidity of the overall spatial experience. The flowing furniture and lighting seamlessly align with the forms of the space, while the soft, gradient hues of luminous jade stone infuse a sense of calm and high-end luxury. The interaction between light and shadow in the space enhances the sense of serenity and balance, creating an atmosphere that is both visually soothing and experientially rich.
The design emphasizes a balance of emotions, inviting visitors to become part of the scene. The space encourages participation by blurring the boundaries between observer and experiencer, creating a deeper emotional connection. By using contrasting materials and bold color choices, the space achieves both depth and flow, evoking a sense of quietude while subtly guiding movement and circulation. The light plays an integral role, casting shadows that delineate zones and paths, bringing the stillness of night into the interior, where every step feels imbued with historical and cultural resonance.
Through its orchestration of space, the design fosters a connection between nature, the city, history, and modernity.
