Chengdu Expo Waterfall Hotel-MGallery Collection

The hotel is located in the Chengdu International Horticultural Expo Park. As the core hotel of the park, it is built around a lake and near the waterfall area. The low-rise architecture is designed to coexist with nature, so how to adhere to the architectural design philosophy while introducing local culture to create a natural leisure experience exclusive to the Expo Park became the key and pain points of the design.
Inspired by the "Stone, Water and Art Tour", the design tells a mythical story about "stones" and offers a unique experience of "standing among stones, watching the waterfall and listening to the flowing water".
In terms of functional layout, the lobby, lobby bar, all-day dining restaurant, Chinese restaurant and specialty bar are cleverly arranged to maximize the landscape. Extensive use of transparent glass allows direct views of the lake scenery and waterfall. In addition, traditional Chinese gardening techniques are incorporated: the lobby entrance introduces a pool, the rock bar borrows views from the outside, and the ADD is designed with an outdoor seating area... Elements such as rocks, water features and plants are incorporated to blur the boundary between inside and outside, creating a one-step-one-view visual effect and tour experience.
Tea art, bamboo weaving, red sandstone (the geological texture of Chengdu) and other local elements are integrated into all spaces, paying homage to the local culture and ecology and creating an immersive natural secret land.
