About The Entry

'Chou Chou' is a creative and transformative fashion project centered on empowerment through color and self-expression. It explores the journey of personal growth and identity formation by examining how clothing choices can reflect an individual’s evolving relationship with self and society.

Rooted in the designer’s personal experiences with childhood limitations and societal expectations, the project reflects a shift from conformity to individuality. Initially confined to wearing colors such as pink, red, and white—often imposed by parental and cultural norms—the designer gradually discovered a deeper affinity with the color green, which came to symbolize authenticity, freedom, and self-acceptance.

Combining research with practice-based methods, 'Chou Chou' investigates how color can act as both a boundary and a liberator. It challenges conventional narratives around femininity, identity, and fashion, encouraging individuals to break free from prescriptive norms and embrace their true selves through what they wear.

Ultimately, this project seeks to inspire a broader dialogue about autonomy, creativity, and self-worth—celebrating fashion not just as aesthetic expression, but as a powerful tool for personal transformation.
