About The Entry

The project is a three-story house in Yunlin, Taiwan. The owner and his wife live together with their two young children and want to create an ideal home that can promote family interaction. The core of the design is "sharing and connection", which enhances spatial mobility through open planning, so that the family members can maintain communication and interaction even when they are in different fields of the house.

As the owners prefer the warm rural style, the design team interprets the rural style with modern techniques, refining the lines, abandoning the complicated carving, and evoking the warm and delicate atmosphere through different materials and geometric patterns, to return the original intention of the owners and realize the dream home in their hearts.

Under the premise that the owners attach importance to parent-child interaction and education, the partition walls of living room, dining room and kitchen are removed, so that the public area is coherent and transparent, and the family members can share the open living space. The second floor is equipped with a study room, which is convenient for parents to accompany the children for reading and promote intimate communication.

The space inherits the typical rural style and re-interprets with modern simple methods. The symbolic rural-style panels and decorative walls are simplified into neat geometric structures. Arched elements echo with glass sliding doors, kitchen facades and the walls of the master bedroom. Morandi green is deliberately chosen as the main color of the whole house, which echoes the needs of the house owners to pay attention to the visual health of the children, and also responds to the warm and simple nature of the rural style, while supplemented by warm wood and space expression, the overall atmosphere is fresh and soft, rich in changes.
