Banking Circle’s new London workplace marks a pivotal shift in aligning its physical environment with its dynamic culture and values. Occupying 9,815 square feet at 68 King William Street, this thoughtfully designed office redefines the traditional workplace, transforming it into a vibrant knowledge-exchange hub that champions collaboration, sustainability, and well-being.

The design is anchored in natural materials, warm tones, and biophilic elements that create a calm, welcoming environment. Accents of sage green and burnt orange, paired with soft textures and organic shapes, help foster a sense of unity and connection. A circular motif—reflective of the brand’s identity—features prominently throughout, including in the striking central bar area, which doubles as a social hub for impromptu collaboration.

Natural light was prioritised throughout, despite architectural limitations. Strategic space planning placed key work zones in light-filled areas, while features such as reeded glass walls allow light to permeate deeper into the space. This not only enhances the working environment but reduces reliance on artificial lighting, supporting the sustainability agenda.

Functionality is embedded in the design. Sit-stand desks, varied work settings, and a seamless integration of technology cater to a range of workstyles. From open-plan collaboration zones and client-facing meeting rooms to private booths and a quiet library, every element is designed to support productivity and user comfort.

Sustainability is central to the project’s ethos. The reuse of existing structures, selection of environmentally responsible materials, and collaboration with local suppliers reflect a strong commitment to circular design. Intrusive columns and irregular floorplates were creatively integrated into the layout, transforming constraints into features that enhance the office’s distinct character.

The result is a modern, flexible workspace that reflects Banking Circle’s ambition and innovation. This is not just an office it’s a carefully curated environment that nurtures community, inspires creativity, and enables the organisation to thrive. By addressing environmental and social impact with equal weight, the design demonstrates that sustainability, functionality and beauty can coexist in perfect harmony.
