About The Entry

The total investment of Meixihu International Culture and Art Center is 2.8 billion yuan. The project includes a 1,800-seat theater, a 500-seat multifunctional theater and an art gallery, with a total construction area of more than 120,000 square meters. Construction began on October 26, 2012 and took seven years. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the British firm that won the Pritzker Prize, the highest award in the world of architecture, the shape is like a beautiful hibiscus flower blooming on the banks of Meixihu Lake.

The visual touchpoints of a brand do not only include a logo or a group of brand products. The guide system in the MICA museum is another visual expression of the brand's image recognition in space. To this end, we developed and designed a set of MICA brand-specific Spanish fonts for positioning title fonts, MICA Sans Headline, and re-designed a set of icon systems to enhance the specificity of the overall guide system in the museum and ensure the consistency of the brand's visual perception and recognition functionality in the space. It is worth mentioning that multiple flowing curves are Zaha's representative language. For this reason, we enlarged the guide icons and fonts and silk-screened them at the curved bends of the exhibition hall to form a unique memory symbol of the spatial guide location, and string together the public's resonance with Zaha. The delicate corners everywhere in the museum form the best guide recognition points, forming a visual response and unity of space and plane with the flowing arcs of the entire museum building.
