Qixi, the most romantic of traditional Chinese festivals, is celebrated in Yilan through the 2025 YILAN LUNAR VALENTINE’S DAY, organized by the Yilan County Government. Returning to Longtan Lake after five years, the event features seven major programs that continue the legacy of the Magpie Bridge Festival spanning over a decade.
From August 29 to 31, the 2025 YILAN LUNAR VALENTINE’S DAY returns grandly to Longtan Lake, often referred to as “Little Sun Moon Lake.” Combining the lakeside scenery with light art, the festival creates the most romantic Qixi celebration. Its seven highlights include the Starlit Magpie Bridge, the Romantic Water Dance Show, and three themed concerts—Pop, Folk, and Local Traditions—alongside fire dance performances, street artists, and a lakeside market. Together, they create an atmosphere of romance dedicated to couples, making it the most enchanting date destination of the year. Within the grounds, a special “Love Declaration Platform” invites visitors to share heartfelt emotions through interactive art installations, cultivating an ambiance of warmth and sincerity.
By integrating local natural scenery with artistic creativity, the lakeside market and specialty food zones present a vibrant cultural feast of love. Through immersive experiences of local culture and lifestyle, the festival invites visitors from across the nation to share in unforgettable romantic moments reflected in the shimmering waters of the lake.
Overall, the festival’s design and strategy go beyond creating a distinctive urban identity; they also embrace future opportunities with courage and innovation. Through cultural promotion and integrated marketing, the 2025 YILAN LUNAR VALENTINE'S DAY embodies foresight and uniqueness, uniting passion, vitality, and love. This not only revitalizes the economy and enhances tourism value but also propels Yilan toward becoming a refined, diverse, and internationally oriented city. Standing proudly as a cultural landmark of Taiwan, Yilan continues to write its own miracle, rooted locally while looking toward the world.
