The design of Qiantong Immersing Hotel creates a dialogue between history and modernity, rooted in the millennium-old cultural context of Qiantong Ancient Town. Guided by the concept of “Ink-wash Jiangnan, Poetic Dwelling,” the project integrates the profound heritage of the ancient town with contemporary design language, offering guests both traditional charm and modern comfort.

The hotel’s layout inherits the “Eight Trigrams Water System” of Qiantong, where winding corridors and scattered courtyards divide yet connect functional areas, forming a rhythm of changing views at every step. Public and private spaces are clearly defined, ensuring guests enjoy both privacy and an engaging social atmosphere. Most guest rooms are oriented to capture townscapes, with balconies or windows framing white walls, black tiles, and flowing water.

Architecturally, the hotel retains Ming and Qing elements such as horse-head walls, green tiles, and carved windows, reinterpreted with modern craftsmanship for durability and refined expression. Local stone and wood harmonize with the historic surroundings, while glass and metal bring a contemporary edge. Inside, bamboo screens, warm lighting, ink motifs, and Chinese furniture evoke the atmosphere of a living ink-wash painting.

Guest rooms combine minimalist modernity with traditional details—solid wood furniture, silk bedding, and natural plant fragrances—while select suites include private courtyards. Public areas such as the restaurant, tea house, and lounges adopt open layouts, integrating regional culture through bamboo weaving, wood carving, and Jiangnan-style landscaping. The restaurant celebrates local cuisine, and the tea house offers tranquil Zen-style spaces overlooking gardens.

Landscape design draws on Jiangnan gardening traditions with rockeries, flowing water, seasonal flowers, and winding paths. Sculptures and murals based on local stories enrich the courtyards, merging natural scenery with cultural memory.

Qiantong Immersing Hotel is both a tribute to the ancient town’s heritage and a modern reinterpretation of hospitality. By blending tradition and innovation, architecture and nature, culture and lifestyle, it offers guests an immersive stay that embodies history, artistry, and contemporary comfort.
