The Signage System of NKNU Research Building

The main concept of “creating infinite possibilities” of NKNU research building is presented in the core element of “point.” The expression of core spirits -“research, innovation, field-crossing” is conducted through the line connection. The modular design, hole punching baking paint metal material of the baseboard with the features of water-proof waxed rope bearing texture is chosen to be the indicator sign after repeatedly experiments. The various icons are not only made among connection of points, it also provides the variety solutions for the following icon.



The designed number and icons are applied to the signage system. All the set-up height, position, measurements of pictograms were calculated and verified to ensure the information can be clearly identified within adequate distance. Through layers of color, texts, editorial design simplify the information and help the readers to understand it in a timely manner. The reusable hold punching board connects and weaves all kinds of the pattern and information. It conveys the research spirit, and also creates the infinite possibilities for the future maintenance and development.
