Worldpay has been a leading payments brand for over thirty years. In that time, it has become a byword for digital payments.
The stats are impressive:
$2.3 trillion of payments processed annually
60+ payment methods offered
Serving more one million merchants
Present in 174 countries
One of the reasons Worldpay has been able to remain at the top of payments is its mindset of non-stop innovation and reinvention. This outlook extends to its marketing and communications.
In May 2025, Worldpay’s marketing team partnered with ifour to refresh the brand to ensure it remained vibrant, trusted, and relevant in a rapidly evolving market. The three objectives for the refresh were to:
Keep the brand competitive, top of mind, and engaging to its audiences
Reinforce trust and recognition globally among all merchant types, from small local businesses to intentional enterprise
Tell Worldpay’s evolving story in a way that demonstrates expert understanding of payments
A comprehensive brand audit, conducted as the first part of the project, revealed that while Worldpay was renowned for its human touch and customer service, it needed to better showcase its innovative technology. It also needed to convey Worldpay’s global scale. Working closely with Worldpay’s in-house creative services team, ifour refined every facet of the brand: the iconic ‘W’ became the hero element; colour palette and typography were modernised; and the Worldpay ‘card’ was repositioned as a storytelling device. The visual system was unified across Worldpay’s expanding suite of products, creating an innovative, cohesive whole that marries Worldpay’s trusted human touch with the technological innovation that positions it at the vanguard of global payments.
Six months on, the results speak volumes:
Engagements up nearly 50%
Post link clicks up 54%+
Shares almost doubled
Comments up over 70%
Worldpay’s brand is more relevant, more compelling, and more connected than ever, helping everyone at the company deliver excellence with consistency, clarity and impact.
