Meliora

Meliora, the Latin noun meaning ‘better things’ or for the pursuit of the better.

Art plays an important role in enriching the everyday life. Amongst so much seemly chaos, it is important now, more than ever to find joy in the everyday, to

find moments of wonder that excite our inherent curiosity.

Meliora is a temporary public art-chitecture. Th piece is defined by a parametric arrangement of ovaline forms that, together create an inhabitable architecture.

It exists as a space of reflection, immersion and joy for its audience. It is an abstract representation of how the global community has the power to come together to cooperate in times of need.

The form is defined by interwoven geometries and curves, connecting and converging in the centre of the form, creating a vaulted moment of negative space for the audience to traverse through and under.

The artwork is dressed in a dichroic treated, PVC skin.

Depending on the direction that the audience approaches the artwork from, they will experience a slightly different visual experience due to the nature of refracted light.

Meliora is illuminated by a dynamic internal light scape that is choreographed to an accompanying bespoke soundscape, creating a unique and enchanting experience for the audience.
