The design and execution of the DNFU 2025 Carnival aimed to transform the virtual world of “Arad Continent” from the classic 17-year-old game IP Dungeon & Fighter (DNF) into a tangible, immersive physical space offline. Over a period of three months, the design team used the game’s core scene, the “West Coast,” as a blueprint. Within Shanghai West Bund’s Dome Art Center, they achieved the first-ever physical realization of a super 20-meter-tall indoor installation, “Sky City,” and created a nearly 3,000-square-meter “West Coast Town”. Through meticulous scene construction and atmosphere building, the game’s worldview was restored at a 1:1 scale, constructing a rich, beautiful, and game-setting-compliant immersive experience space.
At the operational execution level, the design team worked closely with the client. They reserved rehearsal days for detailed item-by-item inspections and held continuous meetings to optimize the player experience flow. During the two days of official operation, the team established a dynamic response mechanism, refining operational details daily based on on-site foot traffic and feedback. This ensured every aspect, from entrance guidance and NPC interactions to market experiences, proceeded smoothly, fully safeguarding the participation experience for all players. The team actively responded to and rapidly implemented all client requests, ultimately earning high recognition from the client for the event’s results.
