Zenith Retreat is a newly built residential villa conceived as a calm sanctuary within an urban environment. The project is guided by the homeowners’ desire to clearly distinguish between social entertaining and everyday family life, while maintaining architectural clarity and spatial balance.

A key design challenge was accommodating different modes of living within a single residence. Two distinct living areas were introduced: a formal living room positioned at the front of the house for receiving guests, and a more intimate family living space located deeper within the plan. This separation allows social gatherings to occur without disrupting the rhythms of daily domestic life.

The transition between these zones is articulated architecturally through spatial sequencing and vertical circulation. The staircase functions as a deliberate threshold, marking the shift from outward-facing public spaces to inward-oriented family areas. This approach reinforces spatial hierarchy while ensuring intuitive movement throughout the home.

Architecturally, the house is composed through a clear relationship between horizontal and vertical volumes. A strong horizontal structure at the lower level establishes sheltered transitional spaces, including the entrance porch and circulation areas, allowing the ground floor to remain visually open. The upper volume is articulated as a more controlled mass, providing privacy and enclosure for family use. Light and shadow are used as architectural elements, enhancing depth and spatial rhythm throughout the day.

A dedicated wine tasting room was incorporated to support the homeowners’ social lifestyle. Designed as an intimate gathering space rather than a display feature, it allows for conversation, wine storage, and shared experiences in a controlled environment.

The residence also accommodates a large family with multiple children. Spatial planning emphasizes flexibility, durability, and comfort in shared areas, ensuring the home remains functional and adaptable over time.

Zenith Retreat demonstrates how residential architecture can be shaped by real patterns of living, balancing social engagement and domestic retreat through clear zoning, structural logic, and thoughtful spatial transitions.
