Oral care is a critical but often overlooked aspect of nursing, especially for bedridden and disabled patients. Conventional methods rely on cotton swabs and repetitive wiping, which are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and highly dependent on caregiver skill. Fluid management is challenging, and the risk of retention or aspiration remains high.
Oral U transforms bedside oral care into an integrated, automated system. Its U-shaped brush cleans multiple tooth surfaces simultaneously, reducing repetitive manual actions and improving consistency. Coordinated spraying and suction manage fluid flow safely, while a detachable handle allows the caregiver to retain control over the process.
Care begins with tongue and mucosal cleaning using a detachable scraper, followed by basic oral condition detection through a dedicated chamber. The brush is then positioned, automatically performing cleaning while the handle detaches. After use, all components return to the docking unit for cleaning, disinfection, and organized storage. A zoned brush head ensures different areas of the mouth are addressed effectively, balancing thorough cleaning with patient comfort.
By integrating these functions, Oral U reduces caregiver workload while enhancing hygiene, safety, and the overall quality of care.
