Chengdu’s Eastern Suburb Memory stands as a cultural landmark etched with the industrial legacy of a bygone era, where mottled factory walls and exposed steel beams whisper tales of former thunder. CHANANG emerges within this intersection of industrial heritage and vintage aesthetics as an immersive jewelry art space—mysterious and romantic, evoking the grandeur of a medieval castle.
The storefront captures the patina of time through its retro textures, while the gilded signage of "CHANANG" gleams radiantly against the weathered walls. Wooden lattice windows, vintage sconces, and the wild greenery beyond complement one another; within the rugged skeleton of industrial style, a solemn sense of artistic ritual flourishes.
Stepping inside is like entering a timeless fortress. The raw concrete texture of the original structure converges with delicate wooden grilles. Warm light cascades from elegant vintage chandeliers and track lighting, illuminating the orderly expanse of wooden ceiling trusses. The varied silhouettes of antique furniture and the floral oil paintings and wall ornaments together compose a trio of "artifacts, art, and atmosphere."
Display cabinets are arranged in a rhythmic disorder, where strings of pearls and jade are arrayed. Each piece of jewelry seems to have stepped out of an ancient scroll.
Following the circulation path deeper into the space, one ascends via retro floor tiles to the second floor—the soul of the entire establishment. This level serves as an art display area reconstructed from reclaimed oil tanks. Designers deconstructed and reorganized these metal vessels, once the veins of industry, transforming them into a spatial exhibition framework brimming with artistic tension. This masterstroke of "breathing new life into old objects" not only preserves the hardcore DNA of the industrial park but also infuses the commercial space with creative vitality and artistic depth.
Upon this fertile ground of cultural creativity, EARLI.DESIGN utilizes CHANANG as a medium to achieve a perfect fusion of history, culture, and commercial design. Within this space, a dramatic dialogue unfolds—a habitat of aesthetics where Chengdu’s youth can feel the collision of industrial memory and contemporary fashion trends.
