McDonald's Museum is an immersive exhibition space specially created for McDonald's, and the first McDonald's museum in Asia. It officially opened in Shenzhen on Children's Day, June 1, 2025.
The project aims to revisit the shared memory of the city and the brand through immersive spatial and narrative design, tracing back to the opening of Shenzhen's first McDonald's restaurant at Guanghua Building in 1990. Over the past three decades, McDonald's has evolved beyond a place for dining to become a cultural symbol accompanying the growth of multiple generations.
Centered around the theme of "memory,"the exhibition weaves together personal experiences and the brand's developmental journey through archival materials, collectible artifacts, and interactive installations.
Key zones such as the "Birthday Party Room," "Classic Toy Wall,"and "Ronald McDonald's Collection Room"recreate familiar brand scenes, strengthening emotional resonance within a shared collective memory.
This project not only serves as a retrospective of the brand's history, but also as a re-exploration and reinterpretation of social and cultural memory.
