Situated beside the future Shenzhen Opera House designed by Pritzker Prize laureate Jean Nouvel, this project reimagines the relationship between architecture, art, and coastal urban living within the cultural heart of Shenzhen Bay. Conceived as “The Restrained Beauty of a Museum by the Opera House,” the space is envisioned not merely as a sales gallery, but as a floating artistic sanctuary shaped by light, ocean, and time.

Drawing inspiration from the fluid rhythm of tides and the organic geometry of the Fibonacci sequence, CCD transforms the architecture into a sculptural spatial experience. The nautilus spiral — symbolizing nature’s most harmonious growth pattern — becomes the project’s central design language, guiding circulation, spatial layering, and visual rhythm throughout the interior. Curved walls, flowing pathways, and concentric forms create an immersive journey where visitors move as if drifting through a continuously unfolding coastal landscape.

The design blends the poetic restraint of Eastern garden philosophy with the purity of minimalist aesthetics and the openness of contemporary museum spaces. Neutral tones including warm ivory, soft gray, and textured concrete establish a calm and meditative atmosphere, while deep oceanic blue accents subtly echo the surrounding bay. Carefully curated artworks and sculptures are integrated into the architectural narrative, allowing art, nature, and spatial emotion to coexist seamlessly.

At the heart of the project, the water bar becomes a spatial interpretation of the “golden spiral,” where layered metallic screens and curved forms create a sense of movement and quiet ceremony. Lounge areas are conceived as floating islands within the larger architectural composition, balancing intimacy with openness.

More than a commercial space, the project is a contemplation on contemporary cultural living — where architecture dissolves into landscape, art becomes part of everyday experience, and stillness emerges amidst the rhythm of the city and sea.
