The perfume packaging design is themed around the culture of the Kingdom of Loulan. It avoids the use of literal symbols such as camels or yellow sand and instead adopts geometric contrast aesthetics and lapis lazuli blue. Through this approach, a grand historical narrative is translated into a tangible container, showing the limitless potential of traditional cultural heritage within a contemporary design context.
In terms of form, the design embraces the Eastern philosophical concept of “round heaven and square earth.” The upper part features a deep blue spherical bottle cap with a high-gloss mirror finish, producing a crystalline sheen that recalls the shimmering reflection of an oasis in the desert. The lower part features a structured square base, with patterns created using UV high-gloss embossing, imitating the weathered surface of ancient city stone walls. The contrast between the spherical bottle cap and square base creates a balanced composition, forming a sense of timeless order within a compact form.
In terms of color, the design breaks away from the typical warm yellows and reds often associated with Western Regions-style designs. Instead, it draws from lapis lazuli, a mineral historically linked to the Silk Road. This deep, lucid blue evokes a vast and still night sky in the desert, conveying the mysterious and distant qualities of the Kingdom of Loulan. The white patterns are set against the dark blue bottle to create a strong visual contrast, contributing to a modern, restrained, and refined visual language in the contemporary reinterpretation of Western Regions culture.
The bottle features uniquely crafted patterns. The brand’s signature “X” symbol is introduced, reflecting the ideas of “cross” and “crush” and representing an adventurous, rule-breaking spirit. The classic Western Regions geometric floral motifs are reworked in a flat style and integrated with the “X” symbol in a tessellated square composition, creating a stable visual base. The patterns function both as ornamentation and as a link between ancient culture and modern aesthetic trends.
