About The Entry

This adaptive reuse project transforms a conventional school art classroom into a contemporary atelier—a professional creative environment that supports collective teaching and making. By redefining three spatial interfaces—operation, activity, and storage—the design consolidates dispersed art tools and teaching materials into integrated perimeter wall systems, releasing the central area as a flexible platform for diverse pedagogical and creative uses.

As digital tools and AI-based media increasingly enter educational settings, the atelier is repositioned as a space where students can re-engage with drawing tools and manual processes. Traditional analog materials are intentionally retained and recontextualized within a contemporary learning environment, allowing the space to operate as an intermediary between craft-based practices and digital instruction. Through this coexistence, the project reconsiders the role and value of drawing within present-day design education.
