About The Entry

Rooted in the rich Song Dynasty heritage of Kaifeng, this project seamlessly blends international premium hotel standards with local culture, establishing a sophisticated destination for both global business travelers and leisure tourists.

Rather than relying on literal historical replicas, the design translates local legacy into a clean, contemporary spatial language. The narrative centers on the iconic “Rainbow Bridge” from the legendary scroll “Along the River During the Qingming Festival,” reimagined as a fluid, arched ceiling. Serving as a strong visual focal point and a profound historical narrative, this overhead element works in tandem with strategic lighting to impart a sense of vertical openness within the limited ceiling height.

The dialogue between the past and the present is further articulated through the symbolic geometry of the Song Dynasty official hat. This silhouette is distilled into the lighting fixtures, striking a perfect balance between classical poise and modern sophistication. To deeply enrich the guest journey, the “Four Elegant Pastimes” of the Song elite—tea whisking, incense burning, floral arranging, and art appreciation—are seamlessly integrated into the public spaces, infusing the spatial experience with an authentic Eastern soul.

Beyond delivering premium aesthetics, the project is driven by a holistic commitment to operational excellence, cost efficiency, and sustainable execution. By pairing a carefully curated natural material palette with modular prefabrication, the design preserves warm, tactile authenticity while significantly minimizing on-site waste and construction costs. Everything flows together effortlessly, delivering a cohesive, low-carbon environment tailored for modern hospitality.
