Beams of Life

The interior space helps residents coexist with the natural environment, blurring the boundary between the interior and the exterior. Applying this design concept as well to circulation, ventilation, and energy sufficiency design, the open space design of the living room, dining room, kitchen and the study effectively broadens up the spatial perception and makes natural lights travel far without interruption.



The designer takes the future plan of the usage into consideration. Since the owner plans to keep cats, to have a children's room, independent master bedroom, and open-plan layout of the kitchen, study, and entrance, the designer aims at creating a comfortable yet homey space with flexible functions and multiple usage.



The space is ingeniously designed and arranged to help residents change their mood once entering the house. From the entrance, residents can immediately feel calm and relaxed, leaving all worries behind. Guided by the flow, one easily enters each area with smooth and flexible transitions in-between.



Applying the textures’ features effectively, the designer extends the space and the visual perception. Expanding the warmth and the energy inside the house, the design reinterprets the definition of an open-plan layout design. The artistic wall coating paints out the structure and the veins, shaping the visual focus and warm atmosphere at the living room’s wall and the master room. Cozy atmosphere and organic vibe can thus coexist in one space.



The design solves the problem of insufficient lighting, poor functionality and badly-arranged flow of the original layout. The original layout with four rooms is turned into one of three rooms. The overall tone is set in an elegant wooden colored palette. Applying the pure palette in low saturation to set off the natural colors, the design awakens residents’ senses with the abundant details of everyday living.



The whole space is applied with low-formaldehyde green building materials, eco-friendly certificated coatings, LED energy-efficient light bulbs. The design ensures the residential living is healthy, safe and with great quality.
