The site is a merger of two residential units. The name, “Rising Sun”, comes from the connection between space and daylight. The owner has a deep love for Japanese spatial elements. The designer incorporated Japanese elements such as tatami mats, while preserving the spaciousness and simplicity of storage, emphasizing leisure and relaxation. The design of the window grilles brings in natural light and views from the outside, making the natural beauty part of the home. The project offers residents a living space filled with vibrant light and shadow.

The highlights include the custom-made wooden grille doors and the flexible Japanese-style rooms. The grilles, with their sparse and dense design, are engraved with mountain ranges and wave-shaped decorations, allowing the light and shadow in the interior to appear dynamic and aesthetic over time. The two Japanese-style rooms can be flexibly transformed by sliding doors, forming a large space suitable for family activities when fully open, and two separate private spaces when closed. The project demonstrates the simplicity and practical aesthetics of the Japanese style.
