About The Entry

In a 163 sqm apartment, the homeowner couple and their two children reside, expecting the home to provide a sense of peace and stability while offering a warm, enveloping space. Therefore, the space was reconfigured, with the ceiling outlined in an arched dome. The elegant curved shape resembles an expansive nest, creating a feeling of gentle embrace. Emphasizing natural simplicity, neutral earth-tone paints, wood, and rattan were used to establish a warm and soft foundation, crafting a nearly meditative, tranquil abode.

Influenced by the pandemic, the homeowner's lifestyle habits have also changed, incorporating considerations of cleanliness into the layout of public areas and bedrooms. The dining area features an added island with a sink, allowing for hand washing upon entry. The master bedroom utilizes a double-door design to separate the sleeping and bathing areas, ensuring the pathways do not interfere with each other, thereby maintaining hygiene and safety.

The original kitchen has been retained, while the dining area features an island and a dining table. This dual kitchen design effectively shortens the cooking workflow and allows for simultaneous meal preparation and childcare. The dining table becomes the social hub of the family, fostering intimate interactions. The inner kitchen is separated by sliding doors, which can hide messy countertops and prevent the spread of cooking fumes.

The large-scale arched ceiling encompasses the entire living room, not only showcasing the grandeur of the space but also adding a sense of warmth and embrace. In the dining area, the ceiling incorporates thoughtful design elements, featuring intentionally arranged geometric cut lines. These lines cleverly mitigate the presence of a heavy beam and discreetly conceal maintenance openings for mechanical and electrical equipment. The rhythmic lines further enhance the visual depth and richness of the space.
