The First PICKPIC！Store in Shanghai

The project draws inspiration from retro cinemas and is led by post-2000 designer Jingyan Yang. It presents an American retro style from a new perspective, adding vibrant trendy color—mint green to American classic retro red and cream yellow color scheme. The space is presented in a modern design language, creating a fun and modern photobooth experience atmosphere. In this case, the Designer focus on creating the fun of this small space while satisfying its multifunctionality, in order to stimulate people's curiosity and make it stand out in the competition of the same type. The total area of this project, including the outdoor courtyard, is only 37㎡. There are also two square structural columns 1.7m away from the entrance. In such a small space, the owners need 4 photo rooms, a DIY interactive area, a dressing area for waiting customers and also a display area. They also hope that there will be scenes everywhere for customers to take nice photos. So ensuring the openness and design sense of the space while satisfying various functions has become a challenge. The designer divided the space into two parts: the front area and the main functional area, with the line connecting the two structural columns as the boundary.The front area carries the functions of customer waiting, dressing, communicating, photo taking, and product display. The space also has be expanded visually through the use of the entire wall mirror in the front area.The main functional area is further divided into two blocks, with four photo rooms forming a whole mint green block; The DIY area, as a highlight of the brand space,is separated into a red block , divided by the shape of the light box and changes in the ground material. Once opened, PICKPIC! has received many collaboration invitation from fashion brands and famous IP. In August 2024, it successfully completed a joint collaboration with the well-known brand ADIDAS.
