Gather Light of Hope

Taiwan is a land that blends many diverse cultures. Every year, the Taiwan Lantern Festival showcases lanterns created by friends from around the world, each carrying unique hopes and blessings. This year, ""Gather Light of Hope"" serves as the main lantern for this section of the festival. It is also a storytelling 6K immersive theater and an interactive game that is engaging and fun to play. The installation beautifully symbolizes wishes for hope and peace around the world.



"Gather Light of Hope" is a magnificent tree of light, nurtured by wishes and blessings. With every heartfelt aspiration, seeds of light are sown, growing into a radiant tree that represents the endless cycle of life. Inspired by color swatches, the design incorporates a spectrum of hues, each symbolizing prayers and blessings. Light flows upward from the roots, weaving through the branches and forming a vibrant, multicolored canopy, creating an atmosphere full of energy and vitality.



This project transforms iconic Lantern Festival traditions—such as Pingxi sky lantern releases, goldfish scooping in night markets, and fortune poem drawing in temples—into an interactive digital game. The game features O-Bear, the Tourism Administration’s mascot, on a journey across Taiwan before arriving at Taoyuan’s "Land of a Thousand Ponds" to fish. Players can scan a QR code to join the game, catch goldfish symbolizing good fortune, and receive a personalized blessing, which is displayed on a wish screen. The experience is further enhanced by a 24-meter-wide, 3-meter-high, 6K circular immersive gauze screen projection and a cloud-based system, ensuring smooth interaction.



This project blends tradition with digital innovation, offering a unique cultural experience while promoting technological advancement, industry growth, and environmental sustainability.
