New Year’s Eve is a time for both reflection and anticipation—a moment to bid farewell to the old and welcome the new. In this spirit, the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC) presented the special program “WE ARE: Our New Year’s Eve,” featuring 11 thematic segments that bridge generations, disciplines, and borders. Highlights included a tribute to the upcoming 60th Golden Bell Awards in 2025, salutes to Taiwanese athletes, a classic cabaret show, and collaborative performances between Taiwanese, Korean, and Thai artists. This diverse lineup enriched family reunions, sparking conversations and establishing the program as a new staple for the holiday season.
The production brought together over 1,000 performers, including 33 artists, 12 performance groups, and more than 500 students from 11 schools, all sharing the “WE ARE” stage to celebrate New Year’s Eve collectively.
The stage design extended into the audience, creating an immersive and welcoming atmosphere. Incorporating split screens, central partitions, two aerial platforms, and four lifting stages, the setup offered dynamic perspectives and depth. A total of 501 lighting fixtures, combined with laser designs, produced varied visual effects, adding layers and impact to each performance segment. The program was recorded in 4K quality using 14 cameras, marking it as Taiwan’s first New Year’s Eve special to employ 4K recording.
