PVR INOX CALENDAR

BACKGROUND:

PVR INOX Cinemas, India’s largest film exhibition company with 1,708 screens across 361 properties in 115 cities, sought to create a calendar that was more than a date tracker—an artistic statement that embodied cinema’s storytelling legacy.



CREATIVE IDEA:

Instead of a conventional calendar, we designed ‘An Ode to the White Page from the Silver Screen’— a limited-edition book celebrating literary masterpieces that became iconic films.At its core are 12 electroplated brass bookmarks, each a miniature art piece reflecting a book’s journey to film. These function as:

• A collectible calendar that integrates art and function.

• A cinematic keepsake with etched illustrations.

• A storytelling device with trivia on books and films.

The art direction ensured that every element—from typography to illustration, material to finish—worked harmoniously to create a visually striking and tactile experience.



EXECUTION:

BOOKMARKS

• Material: 0.4mm gold & silver electroplated brass plates.

• Illustration Style: Etching-inspired compositions with contour lines, blending classic book aesthetics with cinematic visuals.

• Printing: UV inkjet printing (6 colors + lacquer coating).

• Lacquering: Dual opacity white ink for depth and contrast.

BOOK

• Cover: A layered illustration collage representing multiple books and their respective movies, silver met sheets, hardbound, HP Indigo 10000 press (4 colors + white).

• Inner Pages:- Karess Wove Oyster 250 gsm for a classic, tactile feel.- MyWild 450 gsm inlays for volume and bookmark housing.- Single-color offset printing with anilox coating for a refined, vintage effect.

PACKAGING

• Envelope: 350 gsm SBS Board with gold foiling & embossed PVR INOX logo.

• Fabrication: CNC brass blocks for embossing, seamless die-cutting, and hand assembly.
