It was a hot summer in Stuttgart, Germany. On our balcony, we were growing an abundance of vegetables, but watering them with fresh tap water started to feel wasteful. Determined to find a better solution, we began collecting leftover drinking water in our kitchen—water that was still perfectly usable for our plants. Before long, bowls of water were scattered everywhere.

That’s when the idea was born: to create a functional, stylish, and enjoyable product designed to save, store, and reuse drinking water efficiently.

Water scarcity is a global crisis that is worsening as climate change progresses. In industrialized nations, the daily consumption of drinking water is alarmingly high. At our startup, SAVWA, we are tackling this urgent problem. Our mission is to spark a shift in society’s mindset—through bold design and the joy of using our products, making water conservation effortless and engaging.

SAVWA is a new product for domestic kitchens. SAVWA makes it easy to collect drinking water that would otherwise flow down the drain. By collecting the drinking water, the amount used becomes visible. This raises consumer awareness of drinking water consumption. The collected drinking water is then made available for further use, for example for watering houseplants. This creates a water cycle in households that saves the daily human drinking water requirement of approx. 2.4 liters with each filling of SAVWA.

Let's save water with SAVWA.
