This project centers on the thoughtful renovation and redesign of a charming 40-year-old house that holds a rich family history. Originally constructed as a family home during the entrepreneurial era of the homeowner’s grandfather, this house was meticulously designed by his father, a skilled professional in the construction industry. Over the decades, it has served as a witness to the unfolding life stories of an entire family, making it a repository of cherished memories. To breathe new life into this beloved space, the design concept draws inspiration from the elegance of art museums. By strategically utilizing spatial reconfiguration and negative space, the renovation aims to cultivate an open and airy atmosphere, inviting both light and a sense of tranquility into the home. Moreover, the theme "Point de départ" (starting point) serves as a profound symbol of continuity; it honors the emotional resonance of the past while simultaneously reinterpreting those memories through a modern lens. In doing so, this renovation not only respects the house's legacy but also ushers in a vibrant new chapter of life for its inhabitants.

Natural light gracefully streams into the interior space through thoughtfully designed partial openings, beautifully complemented by elegantly light gray floor tiles. The choice of simple colors and materials works harmoniously to cultivate a serene and pure atmosphere. As one gazes upon the walls—largely left blank—the striking white neon lettering stands out, embodying a contemporary artistic style that not only enhances the aesthetics but also provides versatile display options. In the public area, the central structural column serves as a captivating focal point, ingeniously combining storage cabinets with a sleek black mirror design. This innovative approach allows light to flow freely, effectively extending the visual layers and adding depth to the space. Transitioning into the kitchen, the entrance showcases a classic arch element, a tribute to the father’s design, which presents a fresh interpretation of proportions and lines in a modern context.

Inside the kitchen, a bold contrast unfolds as black appliances unite with vibrant pink paint, creating a vivacious rhythm that energizes the space.
